My First Election is not just Mine

May 10, 2010

It was 7 30 in the morning when we arrived on our Voting Precincts and people are already in line. But I got inside the Precinct at around 9 30 due to the long line and the Lane of the Senior Citizens which is of course, a very good idea so that the elderly will be given priority. Right now, Clustered Precincts are observed due to minimal number of the Machines used. But I am sure with much order, anything can be done tolerably.

By the Way, the 2010 Philippine Presidential Elections, which is held today, is very historical since it is the first time that the COMELEC imposed the Automated Elections, a big leap from the primitive Manual Elections that takes almost 2 weeks or more to gather all the results. But using this new Technology, by Eleven in the Evening later, The results of the Local Elections will be published while the National Positions will be completed by tomorrow.

Right now, a lot of people are still in line due to the poor records checking since that part is still done manually. While the Voting Proper and the counting is fully Automated already and is very efficient! All we have to do right now is pray that this Election will be Peaceful, Accurate and an Honest one! GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES!!!

  1. Congratulations on your first vote, Steven! My husband and I went to our precinct at 3pm and didn't have to wait at all. We discovered many elections ago that there's always fewer people after noon.

Now, all we can do is wait…

And pray that the election-related violence in some towns in Mindanao doesn't get worse.

  4. Hello Lhiza!

I am still not sure about the Gubernatorial Race but rumors are spreading that Remulla won against Campaña :( Sorry for the sad Face, I'ts just that I truly believe in Campaña's Leadership being a GenTriseno :(

In General Trias, Ferrer won the Mayorship and Totie Campaña won at around 53% againt Grepo 47%

I hope I brought what you needed :) Just ask me for further questions :D

PS Are you from GenTri as well?

    Steven^^

  6. Leif - I agree Leif! I cannot agree more! Having the right and the privilege to vote is something that can never be experienced by all people. So we were very lucky to be a Democratic Republic that we have the right to suffrage :) Thank you so much Leif!
