But I don't know why it just finished this way, and when I saw this on my old files, I thought I'd share it to you all. The town of Indang is located in the upland part of Cavite, and up until now, it has maintained quite a big portion of it's natural rainforest and jungle areas just like this one. Most of them are privately owned and it's very nice that they choose to maintain it's jungle feel even if they build their houses within them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div>

But yes, I was just in the car until we arrived in our destination in Amadeo, a city in Cavite known for a more milder climate all year round. The city has lesser population than my native General Trias, so people are very much compliant to rules which only had less than 10 active cases since the Pandemic began.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">We visited a friend's garden shop, Antonia's Garden, and got a few pieces for my room and my bathroom. You can check their plants for sale on their facebook account at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/AntoniaGardenPH/" style="text-align: left;"><b style="background-color: #fce8b2;"><font color="#000000">https://www.facebook.com/AntoniaGardenPH/</font></b></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I think another reason why the pandemic is not much affecting the area is because of it's closeness to Nature. "Please Stay Inside Your Vehicles At All Times" says a Sign on the Burger King drive-thru that me and my sister got our favorite four cheese Whoppers from. This was taken two days ago when I decided to go outside when she asked me if I want to and I got the courage to say yes. Aside from masks and distancing, most drive-thrus here asks customers to drop their bills and coins on a basket instead of handing it by the palms to the attendant.</div>

It’s been 499 years since the first presence of the Spaniards at Pearl of the East. They are not here anymore, however, they left their impact in our society. Above is a photo I took of a city in The Cavite Province, one that revolted against them and symbolized as one of the sun’s rays in our nations’s flag. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">By just looking at the orientation of most cities’ and municipalities’ major institutions buildings (Cavite’s General Trias’ “civic center”, the sample photo), Spanish colonial architecture is not very obvious in plain sight. One of the many things how the Spaniards initially shaped our beloved country. Government buildings, church, school, public market (it was originally at the city hall’s location, the tall structure on the left of the photo) surrounding a plaza were strategically placed in the middle of the town to achieve maximum effect in terms of imposition and dominance of influence. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">But for how long will this setup last (like how the market was relocated) as the world keep changing?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yesterday, thousands of Filipino Facebook users were stunned. All across the Philippines, a lot of Facebook accounts have been cloned into blank dummy/duplicate accounts by an unknown source. I myself has been a victim of it and my account was cloned 15 times yesterday. It was a very big news on the headline around the country. Mass reporting happened until my cousin messaged me something that shocked and bothered me at the same time. A cloned account did not just have my name on it but it even stole an old photo of me as the profile picture, added flags as cover banner photo, an account that that very much would look like one that I own, but is not mine. My friends and students helped me report the account but it took more than 24 hours before it thankfully got turned down (as far as we know). I was not able to see it using my profile because the perpetrator even blocked me so I wont be able to see him/her. Scary!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With this, with a heavy heart, I had to take down my personal blog for the meantime for security. It's a very scary situation I would never wanna be in, especially with the newly made law in our country that you can be tagged as a person or terror and be arrested right away even without a warrant if you speak against or critic the government via social media. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The world is getting more and more crazy. Please secure your Facebook accounts and all your social media accounts. Sorry for the late responses on my end and I feel sad to not be able to visit your blogs yesterday! Will do a lot of catching up. </div>

This was taken during ECQ at a popular mall in Dasmariñas. Time: 8:40 AM. The supermarket opens at 9 AM. Everybody arrives separately - some by foot, some by cars, and some by bikes. The gates aren't open yet so you are directed to go to the end of an already long line. You step on the assigned markers, placed 1 meter apart. No one knows each other. But then you catch the eye of the person beside you. She smiles. You smile. She shrugs and tells you, "Ang haba ng pila. Ang hirap no? Pero kaya yan." Three feet apart, yet you've never felt closer to another human being. You see yourself through her eyes. At that precise moment, no one understands what you are going through more than her - and the people around you.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">This is not an isolated case. I've heard of communities getting together to help each other during this time. I’ve seen mothers helping novice buyers select the right kind of vegetables on their shopping list (Pechay? Parsley? Kinchay? It's not easy!). I've joined a Facebook group of "Quarantine Tributes" where people post random stuff, thoughts, questions and I find that there is no negativity - just people helping other people. Again, hundreds of miles apart, yet we've never been closer.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Shared trauma binds us. It can solidify relationships, mend old wounds, and establish new relationships. The right heart always chooses compassion. I believe we have that. Look beyond what you can see. What if this time meant to force us apart, actually made us closer?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>

But I must tell you the scent of it is the same exact fragrant ones. My grandmother call these types the '<i>pitimini</i>' but looking through google, they are called straightforwardly Miniature Roses. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">This one is a surprise gift from my Aunt. I was sitting at our store front when a car passed by and somebody on a mask was shouting at me. When I saw it was my Aunt I rushed to her and my cousin handed me a big pot with this beautiful pink blooms! I was not very successful with growing roses before but now that I am serious about my garden, can you my dear friends give me some tips on how to take good care of roses? What are good practices to prevent white things and bugs and encourage them to bloom?</div>Stevenson Qhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12137070659644887162noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537857813020477013.post-60682158850147339942020-06-05T18:14:00.001+08:002020-06-05T18:14:08.517+08:00Afternoon Tea<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<i>Afternoon Tea, General Trias</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So yesterday, it was a great and fun-filled day for me as I celebrate my 30th! I know that the quarantine has been greatly relaxed here so I asked four of my best friends to come over and they are all so gracious to be there and celebrate with me. Since our two other best friends are in other islands, and the other two are in France and Kuwait, they just video called so it's like we are all together again at that afternoon while they sip their own tea at their spot in the world.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So here's some savories and sweets I prepared for you all my blogging friends! What would you like from the tiered plates?</div>
