Forever Young - COS College Day

February 1, 2010

HIgh School Students? Nahh! Believe it or not, these are our College Professors. They are the Cute Faculty of the Computer Studies Department. As a part of the La Sallian Festival (Jan. 26 - 29, 2010) on the last day, the College of Science celebrates its College Day. During the said event, Faculty members from four Departments of the College of Science namely, Biological Sciences Department (BSD), Computer Sciences Department (CSD), Mathematical Sciences Department (MSD), and Physical Sciences Department (PSD), compete on an annual Faculty Dance Competition.

This year's theme is Asian Pop Songs. Songs from Korea, Japan and Taiwan were featured on the Professors' Presentations. As you can see, the CSD Teachers are wearing a "Boys over Flowers" inspired costume while strutting their stuff on the dance floor! It was really really fun. Our Department, CSD, finished Second to the Three year Champion PSD. But win or lose, every single professor that performed were all worthy of all our cheers and these are times when students like me feel utmost pride for our Mentors! Congratulations COS Teachers! And as we leave the University this March, You all gave us something that we can be mostly proud of, our teachers!

  1. Wow. I am impressed. Your professors are young. I mean where are those with long white beards or long silver hair in case of ladies? It is my age you know. People as old as me or my wife, Patty, we are old farts. She is 73 and I am 75 and we have been married since 1955 -- 54 years.

Anyway, people as old as us are surprised at how young professional people have become. My new doctor is in her 30s. We have five children older and three of them are in the 50s. LOL

So your post and picture reminds me that life goes on and what comes around is often better looking than what goes around.

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the comment you left me there.

If you want to see what I looked like at 20 years of age, then please go to http://sendai-shi.blogspot.com/ and have a look at me in a restaurant in Yokohama, Japan in 1954.

  2. Abe - Thank you so much for your inspiring Comment! I really really enjoy reading long comments especially yours, it's just so inspiring!

You are right! On my early years, Professors are known to be like 40 years old and above until I entered College where I met young teachers which are very good as well. It is very moving to see young professionals especially Teachers because there are only a few Youth right now who wish to be teachers including me. I will be graduating this March in the age of 19 and I am considering greatly to enter the Academe as well.

You're story about you and Patty is truly moving! And your Children, I am very very sure they are very very proud of you as much as I am proud of you!

I will pray for you and your family for you to continue inspiring us with your blogs, photos and your life! God Bless You!

Just visited your Yokohama Blog. You were really really handsome on your 20's! I will be turning 20 too and too bad I can't be as handsome as you :( LOL! jajajajaja Have a Great Week!
