Fresh raindrops on my aloe plant at our balcony on a dark and gloomy, but wished for, afternoon sky. Today I dusted off my old Nikon D3100 and used it for the first time in years! Took this above shot with it and I'm happy
After long days of too much heat since Summer has began here in the Philippines 3 weeks ago, we were blessed by the presence of a swift but strong afternoon rain. It lasted for about 20 minutes but are all so thankful. It started on the upland towns and saw it through Facebook updates of my workmates from there and then I really did pray that it will pass our city and it did! Not just to cool down the excruciating heat (yes the word is not too much because I'm talking about 34-38 C on April, imagine our May and June?).
Just like the rain that passed by our house, I pray and wish for everyone to have better weather that will enable them to have good and comfortable days at home in this lockdown. My the rain around the world not just cools up the weather but also wash away the traces of virus and the worries and anxiety of people, I included.

Rain, that is something that happens a lot here but lately we have been on a roll with 4 days of sun and blue skies. Glad you got some rain, even a little beats none. Pur aloe plants are growing well. I have three of them, two are pieces from the first one. The grow fast.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and stay safe!
Oh I've heard about how often it rains in Britain and Ireland and I am happy that these past days were sunny on your side of the planet my friend. And yes, very much agree that little beats none, especially this night was actually cooler because of that little rain :) Stay safe my friend Bill!

Very much true Carol, we'll never look at nature the same way again :)
DeleteIt is fun to take out something you haven't used in a long time and then love the results. I do like the photo too. We were cold here today but I can image your steamy and hot summer weather. It won't be too long and summer will be here too.
ReplyDeleteYou said it best Erika! That is exactly what I felt after seeing my shots and I am so happy you like the photo! I wish only the best weather out there on your side. Stay Safe!

DeleteNice that you got some rain even if short lived!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Brian! The rain was very much welcomed and appreciated by all of us due to the heat! Stay Safe!
DeleteWe had very hot temperatures for Autumn last week, but this week they are around 24C. We don't get much rain unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying using your camera, hopefully we will all be able to go out freely in the coming weeks. Have a great weekend.
I am glad that you are back to mild 24C weather Sami. I have read from Grace that Perth had 37C days last week just as you said! That's too harsh I think.
DeleteThank you so much Sami and I really do hope we can all take fresh photos again very soon and enjoy the company of our friends.
happy Weekend Sami!
❤️
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend R!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Michelle :) Today I got him out of the bag again and took shots of our flowers here at the garden :)
DeleteThere is nothing so good as rain when it has been terribly dry. I'm glad you were able to get a shower. Hopefully it eased the heat a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt really did Jeanie, thank you very much! And I really hope that it will visit us back again very soon. Praying for good weather there in Michigan this weekend :)
DeleteNice that you have the Nikon out and you're giving it some love. Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much my friend! I am so happy I took him out again and now I'm having quite some ideas to shoot :)
DeleteWe always need a little rain to keep us fresh and bright. We could use that right about now. - Margy
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely yes Margy! Would love to welcome Mr. Rain again very soon here as well since it's getting toasty again even the breeze feels oven-ish. Happy Weekend Margy!
DeleteOh I know exactly how much you enjoyed that rain SQ, we had a little today also, it was wonderful. There is nothing quite like the smell of rain on hot dry soil 💙
ReplyDeleteOh Grace! It's wonderful to know that you also like that smell! haha! Here in the Philippines we have a special name for it, it's called "alimuom" and most people don;t like that smell but I weirdly do HAHA
DeleteGlad Perth had some showers to, wish we will again soon! Happy Weekend Grace!
