Relaxed Lockdown

Child playing on the street, Imus

From the Enhanced Community Quarantine, the Philippines are now under a more relaxed GCQ or General Community Quarantine. Although it's not because it is already safe for everybody, but because the government gives priority to businesses and the economy. the numbers are still at its height especially in the largest island of Luzon where the capital Manila and Cavite are in.

Generally, this level states that people can now go outside of their houses and go places as long as you have your passes, no matter the reason. Different cities in Cavite have their own guidelines and protocols on who and how are people being controlled in this greatly relaxed version of the lockdown. If before, only one person per household is allowed, now, as long as you have a company ID, you can now go outside the house and show your ID only if you are asked to. But if not, you can just go outside and do whatever, worse, without social distancing being checked anymore.

People kept saying how the second wave is about to be at hand soon here in the Philippines, but what they fail to realize is that we are still in the first wave, it was never safer, we are still at its peak of the first. Please pray for Cavite, and for the Philippines.

Photo above special thanks to my friend Zarah from her home Imus. I very much appreciate my friends' help in being this blog's correspondents in times of this virus.

  4. Hello,
That is different, that you need id to go outside. Hubby and I love taking our nature walks. Today we did not see anyone else out walking the trail in our forest. Love the cute kiddie, adorable photo. Take care and stay safe. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!

  7. A few restaurants are open here, but the servers, cooks and workers still wear masks. And tables are farther apart. We still are not going. Kind of wait and see. I pray we all survive this.

  8. There's so much uncertainty about what's safe and what isn't. I'm lucky to have grocery delivery and curbside pick-up services available in my area, but staying home in the spring's beautiful weather is a challenge. I hope you stay safe.

  10. It is very weird now, isn't it? What is more important, safety or opening up? I don't know the answer to that question and I think people need their livelihood but people need to be safe too. I've heard of the second wave also. But we are not at all done with the first wave.

    1. A big yes to not being done with the first yet Erika. And I personally think choosing opening up before better safety will just worsen the wave. ughhh. Hope it's better in your side dear Erika! Stay Safe!

  13. Oh, Stevenson, you have Coco Taxis, too?
We never rode in one, but I have one here :-)

Here we get dubious numbers every day in the news. How many are healed, how many died, how many got the virus just that day.
WHAT? Where do they get the info from?!!!
No one we know, and we asked, was interviewed or tested.
I take my mask when going to buy food. As actually most, and most keep the distance, too.
If we all behaved that way there would... will! - be no second wave and we can enjoy a ride in such a taxi again.
Is it a taxi or a private vehicle?

    1. Oh Iris! We are very much the same! I stopped looking at the numbers that our ministry has been showing because I really dont believe it. A lot has been dying yet what was shown were small numbers.

That is very good to use masks anywhere, it's better to be extra safe than be sorry for that one droplet!

iris that Coco taxi is SUPER CUTE! I love your Cuba post! that photo of you and Ingo on the beach is so precious and cute! It is a taxi :) We call it Tricycle and would you believe that a total of 5 passengers would fit a regular one! That is what I ride everyday to work :)

    2. Stevenson, yes, I also always say, I cannot hear those numbers anymore, I won´t listen!
And aren´t we "lucky" we wear glasses? Eyes are protected from that one droplet as well :-)
Plus, we can see pretty good.... kidding.

Thank you, yes, that holiday was wonderful...

5 people in this tiny taxi? My, you must be small peoaple, lean and thin!!
      I´d ride by myself, too!

    1. your daughter and I thinks the same, especially with what our government has planned in the long run and just earlier they admitted that they still don't have a plan. Imagine 2 months!!! Thanks Sami I hope so too, if only I have a big boat, I'll row myself to Australia or New Zealand for the meantime to be honest.

    1. Agree to that Grace, that is what I kept reminding my friends and students, that lockdown has been lifted NOT because it is safe so they must still distance themselves and for those who can. still stay at home.

Wishing you a great rest of the week dear Grace!

    Much encouragement.
