Lumpiang Shanghai

July 31, 2011

The Lumpiang Shanghai or Spring Rolls in English is a Filipino Delicacy that came from the Chinese. It is made up of ground pork, carrots, onions, leeks and all other yummy ingredients rolled into very thin pastry and then deep fried into perfection. It can be dipped in a variety of sauces such as Ketchup, Mayo and Sweet Chili Sauce, just like the ones shown above.

If you would like to know, the Lumpiang Shanghai is truly one of my Favorite foods Ever! Filipinos like me enjoy it over rice for dinner and some would even have them as is. The Lumpia above is served at Lola Idang's at Dasmariñas

  1. We like both the Spring rolls and the Egg rolls we're able to purchase. Hope they were as good as they look.

  2. Looks crunchy. Haven't tried eating lumpiang shanghai with mayonnaise. It's always ketchup or sweet chili sauce. Now that I think about, I never really ordered lumpiang shanghai in restaurants. But I love it, especially when served in Filipino gatherings. It's a Pinoy staple party food.
