We were at Binondo, Manila the Whole day to celebrate the Chinese New Year! It was loads of fun and Dragon dances here and there! But the one that captured my heart are these children playing along with a carton and one of them was beating the can, their drum. I was really awed by the creativity of these Kids that no matter what, they can always have all the fun they want!
As I was shooting them, One of them saw me and they stopped because they were just really playing around! But eventually, they continued as we left their street! I was really amazed not just how resourceful they are but they really perform like professionals on that very street! The beating was perfect, actually better than some Dragon Dancers we saw the whole day!
This very Moment touched my heart and gave me hope that youth from my country, despite the poverty and all other aspects of crisis, can still have all the abilities to dream and act their dreams for success for themselves and I hope, for the world as well. Kung Hei Fat Choi to all my Fellow Chinese-Filipinos and to each and every Chinese around the world! May we have a Great Year ahead! Also, Happy Valentines Friends! Continue touching hearts!
I just want to greet my friend Hilda of My Manila for including me and my blog on one of her posts! It really meant a lot my friend! I LOVE MANILA! WE ALL DO! Forgive me everybody for my week-long absence, Midterms passed by. God Bless us all
This picture (and the story behind it) is awesome! Kung Hei Fat Choi from me too!
ReplyDeleteVery fun and cute~! Great capture of the creative cardboard box dragon! Happy Chinese New Year!
ReplyDeleteYes, young children can entertain themselves quite nicely if left alone and adults don't interfere. Just give them simple things to play with and they can come up with some really good ideas.
ReplyDeleteTinsie - Thanks So Much Tinsie! I'm Happy you liked it! Kung Hei Fat Choi :D
ReplyDeleteSteven^^
Leif - Thanks so much! I was really really happy while I was shooting it! I was lucky as well to have passed on that very street on that very moment! Happy Chinese New Year!

Patty - I super agree to that Dear Patty! I can still remember my Childhood days. How we think everything are toys and we can play with it. Even Sands, Broken Tires and many more, becomes our playthings :D
ReplyDeleteSteven^^
Kung Hei Fat Choi Steven! Your post reminded me of my childhood. My mother is from a Chinese descent, we used to celebrate the Chinese New Year but when my granpop died, nobody wants to celebrate it anymore. We used to do what the kids did in your photo.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute, and your post so sweet. And I don't mean just for thanking me (but that too, of course), but for the beautiful and positive sentiments you wrote about the Philippines. My friends and I were talking about our politics again this afternoon, and I really needed your words.
ReplyDeleteI hope you did well in your midterms!
Misalyn - Thank you so so much! Our celebrations are also not the same anymore as to when my Grandpa was still with us. But this year, we got inspired together with my cousin and friends to celebrate it again this time and We're very Glad we did :D
ReplyDeleteHilda - Thank you so much! I really am glad you felt my post :D That is so true, My Love for our country and most especially to the Filipino is just plainly uncountable! Grabe! Youth right now gets more and more Nationalistic than ever and of course, Youth counts each and everyone of us :D
ReplyDeleteI wasn't that in to our Politics and our Government until this coming election period started. Because if everyone will be blind and just won't care for our country, Who else would? I really want to talk to people too about this matters especially now that I truly believe on my candidates! I just hope that the best would turn out to be the best!
God Bless You Hilda! I'm Truly thankful for having a friend like you :D
Steven^^

ReplyDeleteLouis - Thanks Louis! It was truly warming on that very moment :D
