Summertime has officially opened here in the Philippines two weeks ago and it's a season that I hate the most, especially for people who can't find a nearby pool or beach to swim at to cool down. But lucky are the places who grew trees and took care of them because they become natural shades that protect whichever is below it from the excruciating Philippine summer heat from the sun and the wind.
I once remember what my Auntie Neneng said to me when I was a kid. Her teacher once told them, "Planting a single tree is like owning a thousand fans". I cannot agree more!
Looks like a beautiful street for a quiet walk. - Margy
ReplyDeleteThat is so true Margy! I remember when I was still a student, that part of our Uni is so hot and bare but now it's shaded and breezy :)
DeleteThat is a wonderful quote about planting trees. I am going to write that one down.
ReplyDeleteThat is true Erika! I was so inspired when my Late Aunt told me that while I was complaining about hot Philippine Summer days. Stay Safe :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeletePretty scene and trees. I would be happy for the shade during a hot sunny day. It is still chilly here. Take care! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
Thank you very much Eileen! Wish you better days with mild sunnydays to come soon! have an awesome new week!
DeleteShe was right.
ReplyDeleteBest regards!
Than kyou so much Robert and sending you greetings to Romania!
DeleteThanks for sharing the quote. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteAll my pleasure, R. In memory of my late Aunt :)
DeleteHi Stevenson. I guess it gets really hot in Cavite? If the picture shows where you live it looks a rather nice to hang out in the spring and summer when it's not too hot. I'm afraid I know little about the Philippines' climate, except that it is probably quite tropical, so it could be one of those places that has all year high temperatures. Living in the Northern Hemisphere doesn't present those problems and we very rarely need to sit in the shade and cool of trees. More usually we have to look out for rain and wind wrecking trees!
ReplyDeleteOh you got that right Phil :) We are a tropical and extremely humid country with two actual seasons. Hot and Very Hot. But we do get rains and strong stormy weather during the monsoon months of August to October. This photo is form my University which is about 25 kilometers away from our house. I heard from a friend who lives in London that it always always rains there but seeing your photos with all the beautiful birds and trees, I would love that weather so much. It's usually 25-40 all year round here and if you do plan to visit our islands, it's best to visit during the months of January to February where it's cooler and the storms are over.
DeleteEstoy totalmente de acuerdo con esa afirmación Stevenson, los árboles dan mucho mas que sombra, son vida, es la naturaleza en estado puro, ver sus ciclos es vivir.
ReplyDeleteSaludos Cordiales.
Beautiful beautiful words Jose Antonio! They are life in its purest form and gives so much life not just to its kind but to all of us in this planet. Sending you hugs my friend!
DeleteOh I love and must remember that expression SQ, it is so true! Walking along under tall shady trees in summer is the best! Tree lined streets are one of my all time favourite things to see 🌳🌲
ReplyDeleteOh Yes Grace! Tree lined streets always always make me feel like I'm on a fairy tale even if I'm riding a car, it feels like I'm on a horseback! Sending you warm hugs!
DeletePretty street scene. Lots of cool shade with those trees.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
That is very true Bill, a haven for summer days that tends to be excruciating here in the Philippines haha Happy Tuesday!
DeleteThat's a wonderful description of the trees and fans. I love summer but I know it is far more temperate here than in your climate!
ReplyDeleteYou got that right Jeanie! I do understand why people adore Summer in your side of the planet especially you have all four beautiful seasons. Here, oh my it can burn you even if you're at home! haha no exagerations. I'm a winter person I think, I enjoyed subzeros in Europe (though I'm sure those are way milder than there in the upper midwest and in Canada)
DeleteSending hugs to Michigan!
