Not really other nations to be honest but the Philippines itself, our country (especially the leaders) should respect our own sovereignty first thing. That's what's lacking...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR CATTY :) 10th birthday is super cool, Wish her more healthy years :)
Oh before it's a very meaningful celebration led by the President with a very good speech at the National Park. But our current president has never led one ever since he was President, I think hee is always very busy.
Celebrate BIG, dear Steve!!! It´s a shame what we did not learn at school here and I am so thankful for bloggy-friends to give me so many history lessons - more info in your words?
Hello dearest Iris! Oh you are right, I really think learning about history through friends is a good thing because they are first handedly knowing of their nation's real happenings rather than what is said in the media.
Oh dearest Iris I really intended it to be very short because ugghhh we kind of not know what freedom is already and worse, it can even me a lot worse these days. We can't even say things anymore because the new law here can arrest us anytime without a warrant if you talk ill about the government. But still very hopeful that our stars and sun can truly fly someday
Thank you so much dear Erika! Oh aside from a massive protest, there was no fun or commemorative celebration that happened :( maybe in the next couple of years we would, or actually next year which marks the 500th year of our country since it was been discovered by Spain :)
Sounds as though you have mixed feelings about what you Independence Day has come to mean - it's sad when your freedoms are being eroded to then be celebrating a day that should mean freedom... Our national day (Waitangi Day) has also seen it's protests, but this past year it was not so controversial, which was a relief. (Not that my small town sees any protests) Stay safe Blessings Maxine
You got it right on dear Maxine. The current state of our country is just really sad, for me personally. A day that should celebrate freedom is a day that shows countless reasons how we lack it.
Glad that Waitangi Day has been peaceful out there dear Maxine!
Mabuhay! Welcome to Cavite Daily Photo! Thank you so much for your comments! They really brighten up my day and my province as well! Your comments are truly appreciated and it is what keeps this blog going on!
