Afternoon Tea, General Trias
So yesterday, it was a great and fun-filled day for me as I celebrate my 30th! I know that the quarantine has been greatly relaxed here so I asked four of my best friends to come over and they are all so gracious to be there and celebrate with me. Since our two other best friends are in other islands, and the other two are in France and Kuwait, they just video called so it's like we are all together again at that afternoon while they sip their own tea at their spot in the world.
So here's some savories and sweets I prepared for you all my blogging friends! What would you like from the tiered plates?
Happy belated birthday Stevenson, hope you had a great day with your friends!
ReplyDeleteThe table looks very pretty :)
Thank you so much dear Sami! I really did! Seeing my friends made my heart leap! Oh thank you! I would love to do that tea party thing again :) My friends are actually the one who placed those goodies on the rack (Ok they are my visitors but they prepped it for me because they are more artistic than I am HAHA)
DeleteIs there something hearty, too? I´d take that then.
ReplyDeleteNow I´m the liar!!! I really bought apple pie, but... sweet tooth said "nahh, let me sleep!".
This weekend I´ll wake him up!!! Maybe.
Great you could see some friends for real!
Lille Corinna looked it up again - your country still has code orange for Germany.
But she gives you a Happy Birthday and a "hi!" :-)
Oh I love Corinna's greeting, thank you so much dear Iris! Danke! Oh Apple Pie!!! My best friend who lives in Paris made an apple pie for the first time two days ago and it was super pretty! It has bare top but the apples are lined in a form that looks like a big rose! Have a slice of that apple pie for me please :)
DeleteWhat a fun way to celebrate with friends. Thank goodness for computers and video calling. and tea with yummy treats is a wonderful way to celebrate too. Hope it was a fantastic birthday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt really was dear Erika! The sweets, the tea, and my dear friends were a delightful treat! And a big yes to computers and internet connection, it made us close or even closer in times of distancing. Hugs to you dear Erika!
DeleteI knew you would have a super birthday SQ, lovely to celebrate with close friends, in person and virtually. I kind of like the look of everything on the cake tray, so I'm glad I don't really have to choose 😉 Do you feel any different now that you are 30?
ReplyDeleteWow that is an amazing question Grace! Hmmm I hav eto say I feel a lot of aches from here and there in my body that started a month ago which I think is because of aging! But still the same fun loving me so I would have to say I still feel the same, but happier because this year, I have more friends like you Grace!
Delete...a nice birthday treat!
ReplyDeleteIt is Tom! Take a few sweets please :)
DeleteHappy Birthday my friend! It's a shame you could only share your birthday over the airwaves, but goodness, how technology has made such events almost real.
ReplyDeleteAs for that tiered presentation, I will take one from each level so as to try everything. And they all look so delicious I'm betting you ate the lot?.
My friend Phil, thank you so much for your kind greeting! Oh you bet! I tasted one of each type haha especially some of those were from my friends who were my 'guests' so I did try the goodies they brought :)
DeleteOh wow happy 30th Stevenson :-D
ReplyDeleteGreat photo - I have never had an afternoon tea! I do fancy it though :-D
Thank you very much dear Ananka! It's amazing, it was my first afternoon tea with friends and I plan to do it again even alone :)
DeleteIt would be hard to choose...but so glad you got to celebrate with your friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much dear Rose, I was super hyped to have them here at our house after many months :)
DeleteThank you for your always interesting and even encouraging comments Steve, even when you have not been in the most rosiest of circumstances. Am very happy and hoped that there was a way to celebrate your thirtieth birthday, because certain milestones in life never come back:) Wow, you know how to celebrate, am looking at this tower of goodies and I see some things I would like to eat:)
