Bird's Nest Fern

Antonia's Garden, Amadeo

The bird's nest fern is an epiphytic type of fern that grows on big or old trees. In Tagalog, it is called "dapo" or literally means "to perch" or "perched". It is a beautiful tropical plant that reminds me of lush rainforests that when added to gardens, will instantly bring a very lush feeling to it. They grow leaves that are so long and broad which almost resembles banana leaves.

Have you seen these species of plants near your area?

  3. Yes, we have similar ferns here too Stevenson - often called stags horns as they are a slightly different shape.

  5. Luce bien en el jardín. Por la forma de las hojas, he visto algunas bastante parecidas, pero no se trata de la misma planta.
