New Normal

Empty Streets, General Trias

Mornings like these are the new normal on this side of the city. Even at midnight, you'll never see it like this pre-pandemic and it's still quite a new sight even after four weeks of the lockdown. President Duterte has just announced this past week that the Enhanced Community Quarantine for the island of Luzon (largest island in the Archipelago) which includes Manila and the whole province of Cavite is extended until April 30th.

Continue staying safe and indoors as much as you can and be sure to disinfect everything from clothes worn outdoors to your grocery items because these things can be active carriers of the virus and can harm not just yourself but the whole household. Tomorrow is Easter, let us all have a restful Black Saturday.

    1. Thank you very much Erika. I truly agree with the quiet, honestly I do like it in a way that it's peaceful but I miss the usual laughter of the Filipinos which you can here from streets apart. Happy Easter!

  6. Our quarantine is April 30 too, and I hope they extend it to May 30. Our state is just starting to be hit very hard and already has more than two thousand deaths. We are holding our breath.

    Wishing you a beautiful Easter.

    1. I am with you Jeanie on those hopes that the quarantine be extended as well because the numbers here are just so high and unimaginable. It would take lots of sacrifices though especially to the poor families but I think it's for the better of everbody. Happy Easter Jeanie!

    1. Quiet can tend to be boring in the long run but it's always peaceful. I hope for the best in Ireland as much as I hope for the Philippines and the world. Wishing you a happy Easter my friend Bill and please stay safe!

  10. Enjoy your special day Stevenson. It is very quiet here. A time for reflection and thanks that our PM Boris survived his close call with the Grim Reaper.
