During the past couple of days, social media has been bombarded by posts and messages regarding a "Total Lockdown" that is to happen very soon. On those memos, which have no cited reference or origin, it will be announced by the President by Monday or Tuesday. Monday has passed here in the Philippines but a real or official communication about it has not yet been heard. Now let's see this Tuesday what happens next.
Shoppers responded to such news by flocking supermarkets as ever but as you can see on this counter aisle, citizens wait patiently as the grocery provided chairs for them to sit on while waiting for their turn. You can see on this store that there are still plenty of stocks of essentials as compared to some other groceries wherein displays now show empty and hollow racks.
Stay Safe, it's hard to see the end to this especially here in the Philippines where there is no sign of concrete mitigation plans. Let's not stop praying and going our part to become the solution to this situation.
Thank you so much to my College Professor Ms. Sheryl for this photo she took for me while she was on queue at her local supermarket in the city of Imus last night.
That is so nice that they got chairs out for the customers to sit and wait until it is their turn to checkout. Cooperation and kindness goes far in today's world.
ReplyDeleteTake care and say safe!
You said it best Bill! Kindness and being courteous these days are rare attributes and whenever we see it, we really get to appreciate it so much! Let it come from us :)
DeleteStay safe brother Bill and stay hydrated!
I agree. It's hard to stay calm when you don't see the end in sight. But we must be patient. It's good to see people adhering to the rules.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mersad. I heard from my cousin that she is starting to lose hope in the situation, I don;t know how to respond at first because I myself have those feelings too lately. But you are right, this situation is also a good lesson of patience. Stay safe and take care there in Bosnia!
Delete...we have a small grocery store never, today I called in an order and an hour later I picked up the order. I didn't have to enter the store, my food was sitting on a table out front. Safe and convenient.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to shop and get your essentials Tom. Aside from social distancing, you saved a lot of time by doing more productive things than waiting in line. Stay safe indoors Tom!
Deleteyes, we should keep at least 2 m distance from each other in public area.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and virus free.
# I am following you, hope, you follow me as well
Absolutely agree Tanza! Please be safe as well! Sure, I'll head on to your blog :)
DeleteI love how they have chairs for you while you wait. I haven't seen that before. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen it here in our city either Erika and I think it's a good idea as well. They just have to disinfect those from time to time I think. Stay Safe Erika!
DeleteI would be so thankful for the chairs...I don't mind standing to work, but just to stand and wait bothers me so bad.
ReplyDeleteSame here Rose! Waiting can always be a challenge for me especially if I don;t find something interesting while I do the wait haha
DeleteVivemos todos uma nova realidade meu amigo.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

I agree it's true my friend Francisco. I still hope though that we can all wake up from this nightmare still. Sending you a big hug my friend!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt is nice they provide chairs, I do not think they would ever do that here. Stay calm and safe. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy week ahead!
Thank you so much Eileen! I agree with you, these are good gestures for the customers. Happy Week ahead for us!
DeleteOh my gosh it looks pretty serious over your way SQ. Make sure you look after yourself and keep safe. Children going back to school after the school holiday here in Australia. Looks like social distancing is working thank goodness. I've been so busy with home renovations the last two days, so happy it should be complete after tomorrow 😊
ReplyDeleteOh wow! At least it feels good for me to hear that somewhere on other places, it's slowly going back to normal, also I've heard in New Zealand that the alert level will be lowered soon. It's hard here lately because people were asked to stay home but Filipinos are natural rule-breakers and without sanction, the numbers are just getting higher than ever!
DeleteOh wow I smiled when I read renovations! I love renovations so much! I'm sure it looks awesome Grace!
My friend. I sincerely hope that you are spared a total lockdown. Although we've not had that the initial selfish behaviour in supermarkets led to immediate shortages of tinned goods, pasta and rice. And of all things, toilet rolls. Luckily we have a large freezer and have always been in the habit of keeping it full. Not so with toilet rolls! Good Luck my friend. I hope you will not require my wishes.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you my friend Phil and I really appreciate your well wishes. It's hard here in the Philippines because the citizens are natural rule-breakers and verbal suggestions to "Stay Home" not really work especially there are no sanctions given to violators. It's very hard to ask my countrymen to follow for their own sake, much more for the sake of everyone. But I am glad you guys have stocked your freezers and we also do that as much as we can since the lockdown. Than kyou so much my friend Phil, you are one of my blogpals who keep me sane through our posts and exchanges of words. Please have an awesome week ahead!
