Stray Cat, Cavite City
Be thankful you have a roof over your head,
others are living dangerously on the streets.
Be thankful you have food on your table,
others are sleeping with an empty stomach.
Be thankful you have income for this month,
others are crying for they cannot provide for their families.
Be thankful you have friends and family to call,
others are hurting because of loneliness.
And most of all,
Be thankful that you are not sick,
others are gasping for air.
Never take things for granted, Always be thankful.

...we need to be thankful for what we consider basic while others have little or nothing.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that Tom! That is something I have been realizing since this lockdown started how lucky I am to have all the things I need and some barely do :(
DeleteBelieve me I am truly thankful each and everyday SQ, life is so very random and things can change in a heartbeat. Every moment is precious, so is that sweet little stray cat 😉 Enjoy your weekend SQ 🌸🌼💜
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you do Grace, that's why you always reflect positive vibes to all of us your blog friends and that is another reason why I am thankful to you :) Monday again for us in the PH and AU. Hope yours will be roses :)
DeleteYou said it! I don't always act like I think like this, but I feel it whether I show it or not.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good way and another layer of how we should think about it, we should always be thankful and do our best to show it. I love that Rose! Thank you so much :)
DeleteAh. . . What a beautifully composed picture and Cat is looking so gorgeous, I love Cats. . . Have a Nice and Lovely Day. . :)
ReplyDeleteHello my friend Manav! I am a dog person but in the past few years I got to appreciate cats more and more! Happy Monday!
DeleteEven if my "roof" aka neighbours is annoying at times... Yes, Stevenson!
ReplyDeleteI have it all, and I am thankful.
If you ever have the chance... go to Western Australia, buy a 4WD car and explore the Outback.
Sleep in the car. Cook your own food, meet the nicest people.
There are many ways to be happy, dear friend.
And I guess... we were happy strays :-)
I still want a cat! ;-)
I'll always pray that I can also get to experience what you and Ingo had in Australia! I know it's a different world there and hopefully I can explore it someday when Corinna decides that enough is enough. Waaaaa you should get a cat Iris :)
DeleteLove the "Be thankful" post. We usually don't think about how lucky we are when we have it all. Cute cat too :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too Sami, I think my friend Ralph did an amazing way in putting words what is relevant these days :) Thank you so much!
DeleteAbsolutely. I feel it is our obligation to be thankful and express gratitude daily. This is really a lovely poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much dear Jeanie! My friend Ralph would be so happy to read your comment :) Speaking of gratitude, thank you for being a nice and sweet friend I knew in the blogging world :)
DeleteI am really a cat woman! I love cats very much! And every time I see a stray cat I want to take her home! Luckily in the Netherlands we have no stray cats ... but in Spain and Italy they have a lot ... to cry!
ReplyDeleteThat is super cute Ella! Now it makes me wonder how are stray cats and dogs on places that have very cold winter :( I hope they can adapt because here its pretty hot all year so they get to thrive.
DeleteWe always need to sit back and reflect on our lives to see if we are doing our best. Sometimes we take the little things and even big ones for granted. Being thankful for all we got in life is the nicest and smartest way to live. Great reminder, thank you and have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI love how you said it my friend Bill. A few good minutes a day of reflecting can really make us more grateful as we think of things we should be thankful for big or small. Have an amazing new week ahead Bill!
DeleteHow wonderful to have other people contributing to your blog and marvelous kitty photo ~ and great lists of thankfuls ~
