Behind Us

The lockdown has been lifted this week. I should have said relaxed but with the rate of cars and people roaming around the streets, it's like the quarantine had even cloned more people and now they are all on the loose! They do wear masks as I see it from our balcony, but my friend Myrcel who is both a nurse and a market vendor who takes care of their family business, took this photo for Cavite Daily Photo kept seeing a lot of people just everywhere and not practicing social distancing at all.

I just hope and pray for my country, that is all that I can do given the situation and also with the compliance of the citizens and the rate of planning by the government. Our nation is so behind as compared to a hundred other when it comes to planning and mitigation of the situation.

  1. Now you have discovered Weekend reflection, you will be looking for reflection everywhere, haha! It's an adventure sometimes, living in the country. But you will discover so many objects, like bottles, windows, etc. that have some kind of a reflection. This is a very clear one - great job for a first timer:) Have an inspiring weekend!

    1. Hahaha you are so right Jesh! It was just a coincidence because when I asked my friend who was stuck on traffic to take a shot of it for me yesterday, she did it creatively by taking this through her side mirror! Then I thought wait, there's a meme about reflections right! Hahaha

Thank you so much Jesh and Happy Weekend :)

  2. ...I haven't been out much and I don't plan on leaving home now that the lockdown has been lifted. People seem to think that the worst is over, we have a long ways to go! Stay safe my friend.

  5. I always like to look at the view in mirrors...also, remember as kids how we used to like to lean way back and look at the world upside down while swinging.

  7. Love the pic, Stevenson, and yes.
Same here. Saw a Father with his kid entering the shopping centre. No masks.
How´s the kiddo supposed to learn with a "role model" like that!
Father´s day here, police had a lot of work to do as too many did not follow rules.
P.S. Did you get my hungry e-mail?

    1. Thank you so much dear Iris! Oh that is so sad! What a bad example to kids and I am sure the kid asked his dad curiously why he's not wearing one or why others do and for sure he answered very defensively ughhh! Lot's of 'parents' like those here too!

Oh! I have to check my email at once! Thanks dear Iris!

  8. It sounds the same there as here -- relaxed but really? Who can tell? They extended ours to June 12. I wonder if we won't be able to tell either.

    1. You said it so right Megy! It's really a sad reality that more and more people surprisingly have 0 manners and sense of respect for other people. Imagine them being parents to kids who look up to them!

Happy weekend dear Megy! Hugs to Portugal!
