Red Velvet

Dragonfly, Amadeo

I may be a big guy but I honestly am afraid of bugs, especially those with wings. But this one sure looks beautiful so I braved myself and got my phone camera and took a shot of it. It was just resting there and allowed me to take a photograph of her. Isn't she lovely?

Does anybody know what type of Dragonfly this is?

  3. That is a good photo my friend. So good that a quick search online tells me it may be Red Percher Dragonfly, scientific name - Neurothemis Ramburii.
Enjoy your weekend and don’t be afraid of harmless little things.

  4. Well, dear Stevenson, another thing we have in common ;-)
Anything with more than 4 legs creeps me out. I´m so glad Ingo did not tell me what a variety of insects lives in Australia, I might´ve stayed home!
Yet, we keep returning, it belongs to life, right.
The color is nice, the rest.... huhhh!

  14. That is a most amazing dragonfly. I've never seen one like it but it's just gorgeous. And well done with your photo. Seems like anytime I"m ready to shoot, the subject moves away! That color. WOW.

  15. Gorgeous photo :-D

I love little bugs and such - they don't scare me. Though in Scotland we haven't any deadly ones! Only problem is the midges - Scotland is famous for them during summer. They bite me like mad.
