Kaybiang Tunnel, Nasugbu-Ternate Road
What you see is already the edge of the province of Cavite. It is the end of the Cavite side of the Kaybiang Tunnel and also from the other way around, the end of the neighboring Batangas province. We don't have much tunnels in the Philippines so this short 300 meter tunnel is actually the nation's longest.
Now that there is still a community quarantine imposed, surely this provincial border is being checked by law enforcement authorities to control and limit the movement of citizens from one province to the other.
I guess that makes it easier to check the people as they move from one place to another.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true Rose! It may cause traffic but the reason behind it is for the safety of the whole so it's good :)
DeleteIs it a one way or two way road? That is the first thing I thought of. Tunnels are pretty amazing though, aren't they? Happy mid-week.
ReplyDeleteGreat question Erika! It is two way but what the soldiers do is let one from each way pass at a time (after checking) if there are traffic from both sides :)
DeleteHappy Mid-week!
...in much of the US certain people feel like they can do and go wherever they please!
ReplyDeleteSadly, here in our very city as well Tom! Some other cities in Cavite have stricter policies and compliance, but on ours, it's quite lose.
DeleteShort tunnel ~ two way but soldiers make it one way? Is that just during the Covid virus? ~ Creative photo ^_^

Thank you so much dear Carol! Oh even without the Covid, the checkpoint is there. Though on lenient times like noon, the guards take breaks :)
DeleteWe don't have many tunnels over here. I can only think of The Clyde Tunnel - which connects the city of Glasgow and goes under the river!
ReplyDeleteYou must come to Scotland one day, if you haven't been already?
Ananka I would love to! It feels so good to read about Glasgow as you said it, my favorite ABBA song has that line "when I called you last night from Glasgow". your country is so beautiful!
DeleteOh plus my favorite Actor is from there too, Gerard Butler!!!
Super - I can be your guide :-D
DeleteOh yes that Abba song always makes me giggle when I hear it ;-) I think Abba did a lot of good tracks, appreciating them more the older I get!
Must confess I don't know much about him :-| I am more into Hong Kong and Japanese films. One of my favourites is Yuen Biao. I also love Samo Hung. And my favourite film of all time is Mr Vampire - a HK film from the early 80s. I saw it in the early 90s and still love it to this day <3
I would love too!!! Will surely tell you when I visit Scotland and let's have some tea at a beautiful cafe! You are very right, I really appreciated ABBA after I finished college.
DeleteOh wow! I have watched some HK films as well because Jackie Chan is always a hero here :) I would have to watch Mr. Vampire.
Well we have a deal then :-D There are plenty amazing cafes here - let's hope they are okay once things get back to 'normal'.
DeleteWhat other music do you like?
I love Jackie, he really did some amazing films. Wheel on Meals and Project A are 2 of my favourites. Have you seen them? Oh yes, check out Mr Vampire :-D Another of my favourites is Chungking Express with Tony Leung - I like him a lot too! I think that films is so beautiful and wonderful <3
I wonder if they will find a lot of violators trying to go to the other side. We have not tunnels here that I'm aware of. BTW, the playground sign was in gaelic.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening, my friend.
Thank you so much my friend Bill, that Gaelic signage you shared was super cool and it's so cool that even if Ireland is near Britain, it's very far from English :)
DeleteUnfortunately, motion control is the most effective way to stop the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, see you!
You got that one right! If only everyone would follow regulations with their might, it won;t be as worse, especially here :(
DeleteHow interesting. I wonder why there aren't more tunnels? Well, easy to check!
ReplyDeleteThat is very true dear Jeanie! I do enjoy that tunnel whenever we pass by it before the corona! It's super cool to be in total darkness at daytime :)
DeleteOh, if this tunnel is made in two directions, it is rather scary, because disaster is easy. Luckily arranged alternately the direction of entering it.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true Himawan. Although the tunnel is a bit short so there still is a bit of light enough for each other lanes to see :)
DeleteDear Steve, the tunnel is a permanent checkpoint, even when Corinna will not run loose anymore? Why?
ReplyDeleteLille Corinna still sits here, your country keeps code orange!
That is right :) To be honest I have no concrete idea but just a way to control the people passing through if they have firearms of sort. Hahaha please send my hugs to lille corrina. The numbers here are growing so fast :(
DeleteWe have a lot of tunnels here... love your perspective of this one. We were very limited in our movements here during the full lock down, but not everyone obeyed - which is common to all humanity I think! Thankfully the restrictions were generally upheld and we are nearly to 3 weeks of no new cases!
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Maxine the whole world is celebrating your country's victory over the virus. Wishing we can all follow your lead but in our country it will be very very difficult not unless the leaders would come up with an unselfish plan for the benefit of all :)
DeleteHello Steve,
ReplyDeleteA special way to block and stop traffic from going to the other side. But understandable in this corona time.
Nice picture.
Greetings, Marco
That is very true my friend Marco! I hope this times would change again for the better soon! Thank you so much!
DeleteCool capture of the tunnel entrance. It looks nice. Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Eileen! happy Weekend to you too!
