Caldera View

Charito's, Tagaytay City

Remember that beautiful entrance to an empty restaurant that I shared at the beginning of this month? This is how it looks like on the second floor. See that view of the Taal caldera? What you can see through the doors and windows are the magnificent Taal Lake and the small but terrible Taal Volcano which erupted just this January.

They serve delicious dishes from Steaks to roast beef, pastas and pies, and even all day breakfast which I especially love! I hope you get a glimpse of why this place is probably my favorite restaurant in the province.

Today is May 27th and my father Ernesto is celebrating his 68th birthday. I wish him more years to come with best of health and happiness and hopefully we can pursue our postponed Indo-China trip in the next years.

  5. Happy birthday to your Dad. I hope he has a good day (and of course many more to come). And that restaurant looks nice and any place that serves breakfast all day is a place I want to visit. Breakfast is the best meal of the, isn't it? And it must be scary to lie so near to a volcano. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

  6. The view of Lake Taal from the restaurant balcony is dramatic.
Reminded me of a similar view from the presidential suite room that was used for my sister's wedding room.

  14. I can see myself sitting at the table on the balcony. When I'm in a restaurant I always choose eating outside if that option is available. Happy Birthday to your dad. I'm sure you will get the opportunity to travel again when things settle down. - Margy

    1. Oh we do have restaurants with outdoor seating especially there in Tagaytay City although I only opt for it during late afternoons and evening dines because the heat here is just so mean HAHA Thank you so much for your greetings and wishes dear Margy!

    1. That is so sad dear Iris! But Thank you so so much for coming back I really appreciate that my friend! Oh we did! My brother cooked Valenciana which is something like Paella but has no seafoods (I know we both are not fans of sea creatures) and only has pork and chicken, and Korean POrk BBQ or called Bulgogi :)

    1. You are very much right Sami! Taal Volcano is actually located on an area in Batangas Province which is where your daughter and son in law is right? I really hope it went back to sleep for good long time now. Happy Friday Sami!
